The capsule's concept takes inspiration from an old Dickies slogan “we’re basic”, twisted with subtle irony. While the phrase suggests simplicity, the collection elevates staple workwear pieces through careful design, handcrafted detail, and thoughtful styling. The result is sharp, confident, and authentically understated.
The capsule consists of 8 pieces composing 4 matching sets:
• 2 sets with long work shorts & short-sleeve shirts
• 2 sets with double knee pants & Eisenhower jackets
All garments are hand-painted and screen-printed in Amsterdam, giving each piece a unique texture and finish.
Anchored in Rassvet’s skateboarding DNA and its connection to Dover Street Market Paris - Brand Development, the collaboration balances utilitarian tradition with contemporary art direction and cultural reflection
Shot entirely on film by Pablo Escudero, the campaign captures the collection’s cheeky spirit. Set at the iconic Paris restaurant Le Train Bleu, a couple sits down for a formal dinner but only orders fries. The waiter serves them with theatrical flair, pouring ketchup like fine wine. It’s basic, but elevated. Chic, yet effortless.
The studio lookbook is authentic to Rassvet’s DNA and was shot by Paul Herrmann. Through this variety of assets, Rassvet plays with its core image, bringing Dickies’ “we are basic” ethos into its own universe.
Every piece in the capsule stays true to Dickies’ workwear DNA, reimagined through Rassvet’s distinct approach one that lives at the intersection of everyday utility and refined skate culture.
